A Writer's Ramblings

Long gone are the days, where writer's could recluse and solely focus on writing. Nowadays, in order to succeed as an author you have to maintain a well oiled digital marketing machine. This is probably why we see significantly less classic material being produced. No more Robinson Crusoe. The world has gone deep into fast consuming commercialism and short term monetization. It's not enough that the author is an extremely talented writer but he/she must be a digital media expert as well. What are the chances of that happening? 

This is the beginning of the end for Brexit. Last night, Theresa May's proposed Brexit deal was crushed by 230 votes by UK MP's, the biggest government defeat in history. Somehow, the UK finds itself in one of the most farcical situations in modern times. The question we are all asking ourselves, not just the British, is why? How did we end up here to begin with?

We live in a past paced world with an ever increasing daily digital consumption. A lot of us live and work within in our screens for the majority of our waking hours. Whether that's good or bad is another matter, it's reality. The tech companies are going to major lengths to ensure that we can consume more easily and achieve our objectives. That is a positive no doubt. However within our current digital ecosystem there is a fundamental flaw, the payments system.

This is one of the most blogged about topics within the authors community. Every write up claims to provide useful guidelines of what it takes to get started and how to do it right.
